THE CIRCLE OF INITIATES, PAST AND PRESENT – VOLUME 1,

The Circle of Initiates, Past and Present – Volume 1, Klaire D. Roy by Tibetan Master Djwhal Khul, Orange Palm Publications, Inc., Quebec, Canada, 2016, 592pp, $39.95.
The Circle of Initiates: Past and Present

Ms. Roy is director of The medicine Buddha Mandala Institute. In The Circle of Initiates, she presents material dictated to her by Djwhal Khul (a pseudonym for his own safety), a Tibetan Master.
The Circle of Initiates explains the hidden personality traits and influences the Seven Rays have on humans, and gives detailed explanations of the concept by listing the Ray and sub-ray influences on 109 famous (or infamous) people.
Rather than begin at the beginning, the reader is encouraged to start with the appendix, where Ms. Roy explains the Seven Rays. You will then better understand the entries for each of the 109. It’s a fairly easy read and well explained.
Djwhal Khul asserts that the source of the Rays is located within the seven major stars of the Big Dipper. A ray is energy that influences the bodies that make up a human being. By studying the Rays and how they influence us from incarnation to incarnation, we can better understand who we are as well as the people with whom we interact.
We each have six bodies: the Monad (sometimes called “spirit”), the Soul, the Personality (our daily behavior and how we express ourselves), the Mental (how we think and problem-solve), the Astral (our emotional expression), and the Physical (our physical appearance and vitality). The Monad is the most evolved part of our make-up and it’s where the Soul returns when its destiny is complete.
Each Ray is supported by four sub-rays, and the interplay of Rays and sub-rays in our various bodies and incarnations characterize who we are and determine our life’s path.
A quick overview of the Rays and their attributes:
          1. Will and power
          2. Love and wisdom
          3. Adaptability and intellect
          4. Harmony, beauty and art
          5. Knowledge and scientific inquiry
          6. Idealistic tendencies and emotion
          7. Ceremonial order and magic
It sounds more complicated than it is. After reading the appendix, read the entries for people familiar to you and you’re likely (like me) to have an “aha moment”, wherein you see the interplay in action and truly understand the Rays’ influence in your own life.
The 109 initiates in Volume 1 include Beethoven, George W. Bush, Fidel Castro, Winston Churchill, Leonardo DiVinci, Walt Disney, Bill Gates, Michael Jackson, George Lucas, Barack Obama, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Donald Trump, Jules Verne, and Oprah Winfrey. Volume 2 will include even more.
Learning about the Seven Rays allows us to gain better mastery of our “self”. A Ray is neither negative nor positive. Like yin and yang, we seek balance, yet at times we swing toward one polarity of the other. For example, people influenced by Ray 2 on the Soul plane use love and empathy to help others. They put others before their own needs. They’re patient, forgiving and social. However, if they are negatively influenced, their traits may be an inferiority complex, self-pity, and indifference or contempt for others.
The book’s size (592 pages) looks daunting, and the subject matter seems difficult to understand, but begin by reading the appendix, and then look at some of the 109 examples for a thorough understand of the topic. The Circle of initiates, Past and Present (Volume 1) is informative, entertaining and captivating.
