The Energy of
Abundance,

“I want it all, and I want it NOW!” So
sang Queen in 1989. The subtitle of The
Energy of Abundance is Practical
Advice and Spiritual Wisdom to Achieve Anything You Want in Life. So, we
can have it all.
You and I are different, and Phyllis
King honors that uniqueness as she teaches us The Energy Game. Each chapter of The Energy of Abundance offers a perspective on a life topic. The
Energy Game uses quantum physics, but those of us who didn’t do well in high
school science class don’t have to worry. The main idea, as used in Ms. King’s
book, is: “what you think and feel about something alters it.” Bingo. How
powerful is that?
So, what is energy, and how do we play
the game to change our lives? Ms. King says, “Everything is energy. Every
thought, everything tangible and intangible… This includes feelings, ideas, and
physical objects.” If I direct my energy to a goal, I should be able to achieve
that goal. Unless I accept limitations I have put on myself, or conditioning
I’ve gotten from family, friends or society. “The thread of scarcity will run
through every area of our being. It shows up in conversation and language, in
behavior and in emotional integrity”
If I’m wondering, “Am I worthy?” I’m
putting limitations on what I can achieve. I have to take the ego and fear out
of the process. Easy enough. Or is it? That’s how the Energy Game begins.
Our past influences our present, which
in turn influences future outcomes. If we deny the past and shove it under the
rug, we’re not resolving anything. If we look at the energy of the past and
say, “I am more powerful than you”, that dissipates the energy. If we can
successfully manage our internal world (thoughts and feelings), we can resolve
external situations much easier.
We can’t force energy. The harder we try
to force outcomes, the less successful we’re likely to be. We have to realize
that it isn’t always the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow that’s the
prize; most of the time it’s the journey to find the end of the rainbow. “Hey!
I did it! Woo hoo!” Don’t give up either. Things take time and we might be on
the verge of a real breakthrough when we say, “I’m not getting anywhere. I give
up.” Don’t limit yourself. Don’t say, “I have to have this job” or “I have to
have a relationship with this person”. Change it to, “I want this, or something
better.” Why limit yourself to a job or relationship that won’t work?
Here’s something incredible: energy
doesn’t differentiate between what’s real and imagined and responds to heavy
emotion. So if you put a lot of energy into manifesting a happy relationship,
guess what?
If life seems to throw a barrier at you,
change your frequency. We’ve been trained to react emotionally, and Phyllis
King teaches us how to change that and get out of our emotional rut.
Ms. King asks questions throughout the
book that open eyes. For example: “Have you forgiven your partner and yourself
for mistakes and injuries that occurred [in a relationship]?”, “Am I too old
[or too young]?”, “Where does my happiness come from?” This is a great way to
see how our emotions get in the way of abundance.
The
Energy of Abundance is invaluable for anyone wanting to have it all!
