<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="margin: 0px;"><span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;">The full-color cards are beautiful. One side features an
animal and the other side a gemstone. </span></span><span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;">Each
card offers </span><span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;">a question for
contemplative thought, a positive affirmation, and Divine Guidance.</span></span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="margin: 0px;"><span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Animals
frequently show up unannounced – in dreams, in life, virtually anywhere. They
appear for a reason, but do we get their message? When I received the deck for
review, I immediately began looking for the creature that had been appearing to
me several times a day for over a week: dragonfly. Part of the message told me
that “I pay attention to my dreams and easily interpret them.” How true! Up
until then, I would wake in the morning with the thought, “I had wonderful
dreams!” but I couldn’t remember even one detail. The morning that I received
the deck was the first time since childhood that I remembered a dream.</span></span></span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Everything
resonates with a vibration. Some are harmonious, other discordant. The gemstone
on my dragonfly card is the amethyst cathedral. Looking at the photo, I felt
drawn into the large, deep purple geode. Part of the gemstone’s message told me
to use my dreams as a tool to balance my emotions. Again, it struck a chord.
The question asked if I had noticed situations in my life that needed the truth
to be revealed. Indeed, I had.</span></span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>When a
friend asked for a reading, she simply pulled a card from the deck and was
amazed at the answers, the question, and the affirmation. We couldn’t wait to
have others pull a card.</span></span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>You
can use these cards in conjunction with other decks – tarot or oracle – for
added insight into any reading. You can pull a card at the start of each day
for inspiration. Can you repeat the card’s affirmation throughout the day to
change your reality and change your life?</span></span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>If
a certain animal (or insect or bird or reptile) appears in your life, you can
instantly pull that card for insight. If you feel attracted to a particular
gemstone, you can pull that card from the deck. Or you can simply draw a card
at random and see what animal and gemstone have to offer.</span></span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>There
is no book to read; the deck alone is all you need.</span></span></span></div>

<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
</div>
<span style="font-family: "arial narrow" , sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;">Greek historian Herodotus wrote: “Two
black doves had come flying from Thebes in Kemet, one to Libya and one to
Dodona … the people of Dodona understood that the [dove’s] message was divine,
and therefore established the oracular shrine. The dove which came to Libya
told the Libyans … to make an oracle of Ammon…”</span></span><br />
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial narrow" , sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>As McQuillar notes, “In the ancient
Mediterranean world, the dove was a symbol of the soul … the two ‘black doves’
(dark-skinned women?) from Thebes … identifies them as sibyls.” A sibyl is a
prophetess. Greek poet Pindar named the “cluster of dazzling stars located in
the constellation of Taurus ‘the Peleiades,’ which means ‘a flock of doves’.”
The Pleiades are named for the seven sisters of Greek mythology, all of whom
were linked to Africa.</span></span></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial narrow" , sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"> </span></span><span style="font-family: "arial narrow" , sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>In ancient times, the “Sibyls were
consulted by the aristocracy prior to all major undertakings and provided
comfort and spiritual guidance for all who sought them.”</span></span></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial narrow" , sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>What happened to the Sibyls? Their
temples were outlawed by Constantine and Nicene Christianity, and secret
societies were formed to avoid persecution. “The legacy of the Sibyls is still
with us…” and this oracle deck can help you awaken that legacy.</span></span></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial narrow" , sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>So much history is packed into
McQuillar’s book! It’s time to reawaken the Sibylline symbols. Katelan V. Foisy
has done an admiral job of designing the cards. The images could be mosaics
found on ancient Libyan walls. I have spent hours poring over the cards,
marveling at their beauty, letting their meanings touch me on many levels. </span></span></div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial narrow" , sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Instructions on how to use the oracle
are outlined clearly and are easy to follow. The cards can be used for
self-examination, decision making, and can be used to help others. I’m tempted
to outline the process, but that is best left to Ms. McQuillar. Unlike some
oracle decks, when you know how to phrase your question or concern, the Sibyls
Oraculum does not give a vague, biased or ambiguous answer.</span></span><span style="font-family: "arial narrow" , sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>You will need two things when using the
Sibyls Oraculum: an open mind and a journal. Recording the results of your
readings, your responses to and reflections on the exercises in the book, and
any dreams or events you may think of as omens will help you see what the cards
are telling you. This isn’t an “instant” reading; events can (and will) play
out over time. You may get a message through “coincidence” after a reading that
lets you know there is more work to do to resolve a situation. Your journal
will help you recognize these “coincidences”.</span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial narrow" , sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Do you truly understand yourself? Ms.
McQuillar offers an exercise to determine your “core card”. Your reaction might
be, “Wow, this is who I really am? I can do better than that!” You now have insight
into how you’ve limited your possibilities and how you can make new choices as
you “become an active player in the game of life”.</span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial narrow" , sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Each card has a key symbol, a
religio-mythological association and a divinatory meaning. These are listed,
and the information is valuable.</span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial narrow" , sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>The Sibyls Oraculum is different from
any oracle deck I’ve ever used, and I love it. I recommend that you give it a
try and see how it can help you.</span></span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial narrow" , sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="background-color: #9fc5e8; color: blue; font-size: large;">There is something exciting about
getting a new deck, and I’m of a mind that you can’t have too many. The
possibilities are always there waiting to be discovered, and frankly, I am not
always patient enough to see if a deck resonates for me before taking it on as
my own. Each deck has its own personality, and it’s an adventure for me to meet
and get to know each one on their own terms. Some I like more than others, but
they all seem to have their charm. That is definitely the case with the Greek
Mythology deck.</span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial narrow" , sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="background-color: #9fc5e8;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>This
is a beautiful deck to view, and the first thing I did was look through all of
them. With a traditional tarot deck, I don’t always do that. Tarot has a
discipline that most decks follow, and the nuances are learned more from
watching their behavior in a reading and interpreting them by where they fall
and what questions are being asked. The artwork uses classic works of art
(paintings, sculptures, frescoes, etc.) depicting various figures from the
Greek myths, and it is a joy to look at. Take a moment to read the
introductions by both the author Alison Chester-Lambert and the illustrator,
Richard Crookes. This is a labor of love.</span></span></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial narrow" , sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="background-color: #9fc5e8;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>The
Greek Mythology reading cards are described as an oracle deck which I find, in
general, tell less of a story and give more of an intuitive insight into a
situation. For me, tarot and oracle are complementary rather than interchangeable,
so I tend to pay more attention to the guide word or descriptor on each card
before examining the image. For instance, the card for Eos has Dawn on it. The
picture is of the winged goddess Eos driving her chariot above the breaking
sunrise. As I look at the card and think of my current situation, I see this as
a harbinger of new beginnings. The dawn of new things. A sunny future lies in
front of me as the light breaks through dark clouds. The chariot brings to mind
the tarot Chariot, which implies forward motion, overcoming obstacles and
essentially underscores my initial impression of the card’s meaning. Kind of
exciting.</span></span></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial narrow" , sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="background-color: #9fc5e8;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>My
knowledge of Greek mythology (and Roman for that matter) is not very deep, and
I did take the time to read some reviews after briefly looking through the book
that accompanies the deck. Some people loved it and thought the information was
on point while others said the descriptions were not always accurate. Personally,
I have no idea which might be true. Not all of the cards are of gods or
goddesses, but I found that a basic understanding of who the image depicts is
enough. So, knowing that Ares is the god of war, having the word ‘warmongering’
on the card, and viewing a painting of a furious battle tells me to be careful
about creating conflict when it isn’t necessary. Ares could be shortsighted in
his need to be right. Maybe I need to be aware of when it’s time to step back
and examine the situation and when I need to fight for what’s right. </span></span></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial narrow" , sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="background-color: #9fc5e8;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Overall,
I think I really like the mythology deck a lot. It could be time for me to do
more work with oracle cards as I found that looking through this one expanded
my thinking process in an interesting way. My good friend and mentor is much
braver than I am and has mixed most of her tarot and oracle decks into one giant
pool. For a long time, she’s held that there are times the same card needs to
show up several times in a reading so more than one deck lets that happen. As I
said above, I think that the oracle complements the tarot and rather than
reading them separately, comingling could be key to deeper readings. This deck
seems to be pushing me a bit further down that path of exploration. For that
reason alone, I would recommend taking a chance on it.</span></span></span></span></div>

<span style="font-family: "arial narrow" , sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="background-color: #9fc5e8; color: blue; font-size: large;">Long before
cards were invented, people tossed items such as bones or stones to foretell
the future. Although I’d heard about readings using dice, I hadn’t tried it. </span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px 0px 5.33px; text-align: justify;">

<span style="font-family: "arial narrow" , sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="background-color: #9fc5e8;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>In the introduction, author Stephen Ball
explains that using dice is similar to using other tools: we examine the
elements, Earth (patient defense, physical needs, natural balance), Air
(intelligence, communication, mental capabilities), Fire (motivation, power,
energy, sexual attraction), and Water (life, healing, dreams prophecy,
compassion, empathy) and apply them to our current situation, what’s coming
into our lives, and what changes we may want to make for benefit or to avoid
negative outcomes. “This oracle takes these fundamental forces and reads the pattern
created by their play together.” There are two additional elements: Sun (linked
with Fire) “dismisses the darkness to show what was previously hidden and
brings the truth into the light, and Moon (linked with Water) “governs dreams
and reaches our deeper emotions … it frequently symbolizes the arrival of
magic…” </span></span></span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px 0px 5.33px; text-align: justify;">

<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial narrow" , sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="background-color: #9fc5e8;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Ball explains, “Each reading takes the
form of a new influence coming into an existing situation.” The dice toss tells
whether the “new arrival” has greater or lesser influence. </span></span></span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px 0px 5.33px; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial narrow" , sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="background-color: #9fc5e8;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>When casting the dice, you will get
three numbers: 1) your current situation, 2) the new actor (element) coming in,
and 3) the strength of the newcomer (how much influence it will have on your
current situation). There are 72 possible outcomes in each toss. My first
reaction to that was, “This is going to be so hard!” But it isn’t. Ball’s
explanations are easy to understand. More than a few of my teachers said it was
“cheating” to use a book when doing a reading. Not so with Elemental
Divination. Each configuration has a name, and reading the interpretation helps
to see the deeper, far-reaching aspects of that configuration. The analogies
and mental images of the interpretations are pretty much the same as looking at
a tarot or oracle card. For Lesser Moon over Fire (called Candle Magic), the
image is three beeswax candles burning brightly in a clearing at night. They
don’t shed much light, but they do offer “a small touch of magic and
possibility.” That said, however, Ball explains, “the final conclusion that you
come to [after a reading] can be entirely from your own feelings on each
combination.” You’re not locked into using the interpretations listed in the
book. </span></span></span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px 0px 5.33px; text-align: justify;">

<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial narrow" , sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="background-color: #9fc5e8;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Ball teaches how to ask questions “about
all points of the future or past” and recommends doing three readings: 1) new
influence coming between now and tomorrow; 2) more detail on the present
situation (near future); 3) choices you can make going forward. </span></span></span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px 0px 5.33px; text-align: justify;">

<span style="font-family: "arial narrow" , sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="background-color: #9fc5e8;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>The sample readings are incredibly
helpful. Ball explains how to choose dice (metal, wood, patterned, etc.),
rituals for consecrating your dice, and meditations for each element. He then
covers the 72 configurations, and The Appendix is a quick reference to the
configurations, listing the dice roll, elements, title, summary and page. For
example, Greater Air over Fire is called Conflagration (think of wind blowing a
forest fire) with the Summary “Explosive increase, massive energy for success”
and a referral to page 82. </span></span></span></span></div>

encourage you to consider using it. It’s a wonderful new (to me, at least) tool
that I will be combining with tarot and oracle decks for greater insight.</span></span></span></span></div>

advisable to keep a journal to see how you change, and also to see if you’ve
been ignoring good advice. </span></span></span></span></div>

<span style="font-family: "arial narrow" , sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="background-color: #9fc5e8; color: blue; font-size: large;">Dr.
Corelli has been investigating allegedly haunted locations for almost 20 years.
In <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">The Haunted Heart of America</i> he
takes us to eleven, plus he shares residential investigations in the final
chapter. He’s visited some of the locales previously, and some are new. It was
interesting that he visited some sites on multiple occasions and documented
different events on each visit.</span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px 0px 5.33px; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial narrow" , sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="background-color: #9fc5e8;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>In the introduction, Dr. Corelli
explains that the book includes “all anomalous activity as well as personal
impressions”, adding that “my theories about the paranormal and my
investigative methods are my own.” If you’re used to certain procedures from
“ghost hunting” groups on TV, understand that Dr. Corelli’s methods may differ.</span></span></span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px 0px 5.33px; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial narrow" , sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="background-color: #9fc5e8;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Each allegedly haunted site has a
history, and Dr. Corelli gives some background, which I found helpful, as I was
unfamiliar with several locales, and there was new information (for me, at
least) on some sites I already knew about. </span></span></span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px 0px 5.33px; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial narrow" , sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="background-color: #9fc5e8;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Not all “haunted locations” have
activity, which is to be expected. I suppose TV ghost-hunting shows leave out
investigations where nothing happens because they want to show all the “good
stuff”; an investigation without results would be boring TV. In one instance, Dr.
Corelli readily admitted, “I would have to say that it is possible [location]
could be haunted, but we didn’t experience anything while we were there.” It
was, however, interesting to read how Dr. Corelli and his team set up the
investigation, and I wondered if he had discounted the incident of a “missing”
piece of equipment which suddenly showed up. </span></span></span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px 0px 5.33px; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial narrow" , sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="background-color: #9fc5e8;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Dr. Corelli’s investigators varied in
number and group members, and I enjoyed reading how different people
acted/reacted in certain situations. I don’t know if I’d be brave enough to lay
on a morgue slab tray in a body cabinet or be locked alone in a haunted
hospital! Reading about a team member vomiting after stepping onto allegedly
haunted property was unnerving, especially with what happened to the rest of
the team afterwards and on subsequent visits to the site. In one instance, I
wondered if the team had encountered a Hell Hound!</span></span></span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px 0px 5.33px; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial narrow" , sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="background-color: #9fc5e8;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Dr. Corelli shares EVP sessions that—perhaps
not at the time of the investigation—yielded ominous threats or creepy
responses to questions. He also shares photos of faces in windows and
mysterious orbs. </span></span></span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px 0px 5.33px; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial narrow" , sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="background-color: #9fc5e8;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>I enjoyed <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">The Haunted Heart of America</i>. I couldn’t put it down, and as I read
into the wee hours of the morning, I jumped at each sound. Was that the wind?
Did that sudden chill come from the air conditioning coming on? Was the
scratching sound just a tree branch grazing a window pane?</span></span></span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px 0px 5.33px; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial narrow" , sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="background-color: #9fc5e8;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>I recommend <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">The Haunted Heart of America</i> for anyone interested in ghosts,
hauntings, and ghost hunting. No, not all investigations resulted in unnerving
events, but there were times I was sure that, if Dr. Corelli and his team had
just turned that last corner at the end of the hall….</span></span></span></span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="background-color: #9fc5e8;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>An NDE is a
Near-Death Experience—basically “coming back from the dead”—and many people find
their lives profoundly changed following an NDE. Some “experts” assert that an
NDE is a byproduct of reduced oxygen to the brain “resulting in
hallucinations”, but would a hallucination cause a person to experience
electrical sensitivity? Or make other experiencers begin painting and drawing
universal symbols in an attempt to explain what happened to them?</span></span></span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px 0px 5.33px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="background-color: #9fc5e8;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Debra Diamond is a
clairvoyant and clairaudient, talents which she used as she interviewed people
who had experienced NDEs. Communicating with Spirit during the sessions helped
Ms. Diamond better understand the experience, and allowed the interviewees to
get a better handle on what had happened. Some had never talked of their NDEs
with others because they felt no one would understand.</span></span></span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px 0px 5.33px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="background-color: #9fc5e8;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Lest you think having
an NDE will change your life for the better, pay close attention. As Ms.
Diamond explains, “An NDE can bring on baffling, frightening, and even
dangerous side-effects … According to research by P.M.H. Atwater it takes
experiencers seven years, on average, to become accustomed to the changes
brought on after an NDE.” An experiencer might have gained “supernatural”
abilities, but at what cost? Loss of job, loss of spouse. Suicidal and
self-destructive behavior. </span></span></span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px 0px 5.33px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="background-color: #9fc5e8;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Not only does Ms.
Diamond look at what happens before and after an NDE; she looks at what happens
during the experience. The question is whether you can return to your “normal”
life after you’ve experienced “a higher frequency energetic range, a
non-material realm we can’t define and have difficulty addressing in our spoken
language”. That is the ultimate challenge.</span></span></span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px 0px 5.33px; text-align: justify;">

Raymond Moody, and I thought I knew a fair amount about it, but there were

Near Death </span></i><span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;">that offered totally new information, most of it
mind-boggling.</span></span></span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px 0px 5.33px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="background-color: #9fc5e8;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>I could go on and on,

You won’t want to put it down. The language is easy to understand, and I think
Ms. Diamond covers the subject in a way that helps answer many questions—and if
you think you have a lot of questions, imagine the people who have had NDEs.
They want to know <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">how, what do I do with
these new feelings/abilities, </i>and possibly the most important: <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">why me. </i></span></span></span></span></div>

saw the artwork…I was mesmerized. The artist’s vision captured something in my
soul.”</span></span></div>
<br />
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="background-color: #9fc5e8;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>I know exactly how
she felt because I felt that myself as I first went through the deck. The
artwork is evocative, enchanting, and superbly detailed. Kuan Yin is shown in
all guises of woman: maiden, mother, crone. She flies through the air, dances
across water or snow, embraces buffalo… </span></span></span></span></div>
<br />
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="background-color: #9fc5e8;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>The card names
reflect the artwork. Grandmother of Love, Granddaughter of Life depicts Crone
and young female looking at each other, and the beautiful message (in the book)
tells us that Grandmother is wisdom with the ability to learn from experience.
Granddaughter is potential with the seed of life growing into fullness. Both
ends of the spectrum. The message tells us to stop judging ourselves for our
past and become empowered to engage more with life. How meaningful. </span></span></span></span></div>
<br />
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="background-color: #9fc5e8;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>The book is
wonderful. Alana introduces us to the genesis of the deck and how it progressed
to the cards and book you now hold in your hands. For those unfamiliar, she
explains who Kuan Yin is in a way that makes it so clear. </span></span></span></span></div>
<br />
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="background-color: #9fc5e8;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Alana then explains
how to use the deck: How to formulate a question for a single card reading;
what other spreads you might want to use; information on reversed cards. What I
found helpful here is the explanation of Healing Processes.</span></span></span></span></div>
<br />
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="background-color: #9fc5e8;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Each card has an
explanation of its meaning as well as its Healing Process. If you keep getting
the same card over and over, or if you feel you need more information on a
particular card, you will find simple Healing rituals and prayers. For example,
part of the prayer for Grandmother of Love, Granddaughter of Life (yes, my
favorite card) is to ask for help trusting your own timing; help in letting go
and trusting that life loves you and wants you to grow. </span></span></span></span></div>
<br />
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="background-color: #9fc5e8;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>There are only two
drawbacks to the <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Wild Kuan Yin Oracle. </i>One
is that the<i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"> </i>print in the book is very
small. I know it has to be in order to fit the book and cards in the small box,
but there were times I had to use a magnifier. The other isn’t so much a
drawback as a question. Alana explains “…if you find a reversed card in your
reading…pay special attention to it.” Because some of the cards are horizontal,
how can I tell if it’s reversed or upright? </span></span></span></span></div>
<br />
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="background-color: #9fc5e8;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>All in all, I found
this deck incredibly helpful and insightful, and the book extremely
well-written. You don’t have to know Kuan Yin; you’ll learn about her (and
yourself) by connecting to her energy as you do readings for yourself and
others with this beautiful deck.</span></span></span></span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>“As above, so below.” We look at the sky and
what do we see? Stars, planets, galaxies. There is order there, but do we
realize there is order here, on Earth, as well? The late Carl Sagan said, “<strong><i><span style="border-image: none; border: 1pt windowtext; font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; font-weight: normal; margin: 0px; padding: 0in;">We are made of star-stuff</span></i></strong></span><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><i><span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;">”, </span></i></b><span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;">and through her extensive
research, Jennifer Gehl shows how ancient medicines are connected to the entire
universe: galaxies, stars, planets. There is order in the motion of planets;
order in mathematics; order in music. Can we bring that order to healing and
wellness? Can we use ancient medicines and healing practices with our modern
clinical treatments in order to treat the whole person and not just symptoms? </span></span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>

need to open our eyes, our minds, and see that the universe constantly sends
messages and signals. Once we recognize those messages and signals, we can use

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;">This
is book three of <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">The Modern Mystic
Series.</i> If you’ve read the two previous books, you are aware of Dr.
Fievet’s method of teaching. It’s less like a “lesson” and more like an interaction
between you (the reader) and Dr. Fievet. </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>The inspiration for <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">The Eagle’s View</i> came when Dr. Fievet sat at an outdoor theatre in
Belgium, watching golden eagles soar. “I intuited their mystical potential,
understanding completely why Native Americans consider the eagle to be a
messenger from the Great Spirit.” But her elation at watching the eagles was
short-lived as she realized “Instead of embracing their innate story…they had
been conditioned to move only short distances … The eagles had been conditioned
to forget their innate, mystical potential for living a joyful, spiritual
life.” She goes on to say, “With an eagle’s view, I wanted to learn how to rise
above the chaos in my life and in society all around me.” And in this book she
shares what she learned.</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;">Now
that we’re in the twenty-first century, it’s getting more difficult to determine
what might be a UFO. In years past, sightings were discounted as the planet
Venus, a bright star, an airplane or blimp. Twenty-first century UFOlogists are
now encountering new challenges.</span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Drones are for sale starting around $20,
and they’re popular with many segments of our society. Realtors use them, for
example, to film estate properties. How is the average person to know if that
light in the sky is a UFO or a drone?</span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>For that reason, Hofer and Barker note,
“…here is where ufology is really screwed: Some of these drones are enhanced by
hobbyists and designed to appear <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">exactly</i>
like UFOs.” Is a photo a UFO or a neighbor’s drone?</span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px 0px 5.33px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Another challenge for UFOlogists is
computer imaging. Is the photo online a true aerial anomaly or has someone
manipulated the image for whatever reason? [Below image from pixabay.com]</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Hofer and Barker enlisted Shreya Joshi,
the leading ufologist with the Indian Paranormal Team to help with their
research. </span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Hofer says, “I present our IM dialogues
unedited so [Shreya’s] character is revealed to you.” Although Shreya comes
across as charming, I personally would rather have seen the edited, shortened,
IMs because a lot of the conversations are overlong and shed little light on
the subject. </span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Shreya had interesting insights into UFOs
through her work with IPT. For example, in one exchange: “Some people think the
Grays don’t breathe at all, that they are more like robots than a living
species. Others think that the Grays are wearing spacesuits. My personal take
is that they ‘breathe’ through the skin and nostrils.” She also had interesting
insights into bacteria and breathing.</span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Shreya was studying the case of a
5-year-old boy who had reportedly gone to an alien planet with cybernetic
aliens beginning at 1-year-old. The information makes for a good read.</span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Barker shares the adventures of a man
named Earl Heriot, who was featured in their book <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Little Gray Bastards: The Incessant Alien Presence,</i> as he relates
recovered memories of abductions and other experiences.</span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Where other books skip the images
reported in the Rendlesham Incident (1980), Hofer and Barker devote an entire
chapter to the Rendlesham Code. Witness Staff Sergeant Jim Penniston, USAF
(retired), filled 16 pages of a notebook with the binary code he had seen on
the craft. The code was given to “Professional Binary Code Expert” Joe Luciano,
who interpreted it. The message is strange and may require further
interpretation. </span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>In continuing Earl Heriot’s experiences,
Hofer and Barker consider the possibility that alien abductions run in
families, as Earl’s family members have had “a number of UFO sightings, a few
alien encounters, and diverse ‘non-alien’ paranormal incidents.” I have never
read of other researchers examining family connections in Ufology.</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>On that same note, Hofer and Barker look
into the possibility that some “humans” are actually hybrids carrying
“implanted alien nucleic acid sequences.” In this chapter they refer to Nick
Redfern’s books <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Women in Black</i> and <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Bloodline of the Gods </i>and Dr. David M.
Jacobs’ book, <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Walking Among Us: The Alien
Plan to Control Humanity.</i> </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span><i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Unidentifiable
Flying Objects</i> is a well-researched book with probably more information
than the average UFOlogist is expecting. It was written by two men who wanted
to dig into the subject because their answer to any questions on UFOs and
aliens was “I don’t know.” Their quest was to find answers. Did they succeed?
You’ll have to read the book to find out.</span></span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;">A
“UFO Hotspot” is a place with an extraordinary number of UFO sightings and
encounters. <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">UFOs Over Colorado </i>“is
the first book to present a comprehensive history of extraterrestrial
encounters in the Centennial State … Colorado UFO cases have had a profound
effect on UFO research.” It’s a fascinating read for any UFO aficionado, and a
book you’re likely to keep on your shelf to read again. </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>The book is set up both topically and
chronologically. It starts with sightings, followed by “more extensive
encounters, such as face-to-face encounters with humanoids, UFO landings,
onboard UFO experiences, UFO crashes...” It’s easy to follow the chronology and
intensity of the visitations.</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Although you may remember the “first”
big case involving the mutilation of “Snippy” the horse (actually “Lady”
misidentified) in 1967, sightings and interactions began long before that.
Native Americans have legends of “ant people”, “sky people”, “flying baskets”
and “flying seed pods”. An early encounter was recorded in the <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Salina Record</i> in 1917 when witnesses
reported seeing “vehicles of the air”. There is a clear and unnerving photo of
a 1929 sighting. In the early 1960s there were cases of “UFOs being chased by
military aircraft, objects hovering over sensitive installations, objects
stopping traffic, disabling vehicles, or chasing people down the highway.” </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>I’ll skip Project Blue Book, which many
already know about, and will point out that the U.S. Air Force asked the
University of Colorado to study UFOs in the early 1960s. Nuclear physicist
Edward Condon was chosen to head The Condon Committee. The project spent over
$500,000 ($3.7 million in modern currency) on the study, and it’s interesting
that – before the study was completed – Condon said, “My attitude right now is
that there’s nothing to it…but I’m not supposed to reach that conclusion for
another year.” Over 500,000 taxpayer dollars spent on this “unbiased”
investigation.</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>One thing I found interesting about the
reports was how calm many witnesses were. Was that because of the ETs? Could
they, like biblical angels, calm witnesses with a “fear not” command (or even
chemical) that somehow soothes a witness? It’s also interesting that a state
with an incredible number of UFO sightings is also the site of many U.S. military
bases. Could there be a connection? If so, what is it? Are the UFOs being
studied, is the military experimenting with reverse engineered UFO technology,
or is there another explanation? </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span><i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">UFOs Over Colorado </i>is an extensive
compilation of UFO sightings, encounters, abductions, missing time, animal
mutilations, Big Foot (or other creature) sightings, mysterious healing,
possible ET/human hybrids, and more. Are UFOs and/or ETs stepping through
dimensional barriers? That could explain a 2008 near collision between a UFO
and a plane taking off from Denver International Airport. The book also
includes an extensive bibliography and several color photos. </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> <span style="color: blue;"> </span></span><span style="color: blue;">One hotspot you can visit is The UFO
Watchtower, </span></span><span style="color: blue;"><span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;">an observation platform with 360-degree
views of the San Luis Valley. It was built in 2000 after many, many visitors
flocked to the area. If you’re interested, The Watchtower will be the site of </span><span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;">The Cosmic Highway Conference this July. For more

<span style="font-size: large;"><i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;">The Essential Guide to UFO Sightings Since 1945, </span></i><span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;">Frank Schwede,
Schiffer Publishing, Ltd, Atglen, PA, 2017, 112pp, $9.99.</span></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a class="a-link-normal a-text-normal" href="https://www.amazon.com/Essential-Guide-Sightings-Since-1945/dp/076435437X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1524355779&sr=8-1&keywords=THE+ESSENTIAL+GUIDE+TO+UFO+SIGHTINGS+SINCE+1945" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="The Essential Guide to UFO Sightings Since 1945" class="s-access-image cfMarker" data-search-image-load="" height="218" src="https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/31yqwkrZYNL._AC_US218_.jpg" width="218" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;">The author states that the purpose of
this book is “to suggest that perhaps we should put our firmly established
world view into question and at least <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">not
</i>exclude the possibility that there is more between heaven and Earth than we
believe we know today.” I was disappointed in the lack of information on the
Aztec UFO crash, which occurred less than a year after Roswell. Otherwise,
Schwede does an exemplary job of providing information on sightings of possible
UFOs from 1945 to the present. These sightings come from all around the world,
and as he states in the <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Preface</i>,
Schwede is attempting “to get on the track of the truth…” </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>There is a lot of information packed
into the 112 pages, and that could be because the print is very small, which
may be a challenge for some readers. There are photos and drawings to
illustrate the appearance of various UFOs. Very nice reference! In writing
about UFO dimensions and speed, Schwede uses both Western measurements (feet,
miles, miles per hour) as well as metric (meters, kilometers, kilometers per
hour), so readers familiar with either will be able to follow along. </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>There may be “natural” explanations for
sightings (cloud formations, stars or planets, weather, etc.) and Schwede
includes explanations by skeptics in many instances. In the <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Preface</i>, he presents three hypotheses of
where our “visitors” come from: 1) Extraterrestrial, 2) Visitors from the
Future, 3) Visitors from Parallel Universes. Read each explanation and
determine which (if any) you believe. Also in the <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Preface</i> he offers one example of a sighting with explanations of how
a “UFO” might be as seen from various points of view. </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Many people believe world governments
and militaries are hiding the truth. This may be. Schwede does point out that
skeptics are usually believed over actual witnesses, and many investigations
are quickly shut down before questions are answered. After a meeting where a
sighting could not be satisfactorily explained, one CIA agent allegedly said,
“This meeting never took place. We were never here, you are all sworn to
secrecy, and we are confiscating all this data.” Using “national security” as a
reason for secrecy has been used for decades. Yet this past week it was
reported that the Pentagon has been funding UFO investigations from 2007. </span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Schwede notes that pilots don’t report
UFO sightings because “they fear for their families.” Is it because UFOs cannot
be adequately explained away and pose a potential threat, or is it because at
least some UFOs are secret or experimental craft made here on Earth?</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Perhaps we are now beginning to look at
UFOs in a different way. Maybe we’re no longer so quick to dismiss them as
“natural” phenomena. It does take time, however. After all, it wasn’t until
1992 that the Vatican “rehabilitated” Galileo, who had asserted (500 years
earlier) that the Sun, not Earth, was the center of our universe. </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span><i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">The Essential Guide to UFO Sightings Since
1945 </i>is an informative book that makes the reader <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">think.</i> What do you believe? Is there enough evidence to assert that
UFOs are visitors from somewhere outside Earth’s atmosphere? It’s an enjoyable
read, and any UFO aficionado (or anyone curious about sightings) will surely enjoy
it. </span></span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;">As
soon as I saw this nicely constructed book, I knew it was created by someone
who truly loved New Jersey history, and since this book has a thick, hard cover
with durable pages, the book can be used as a reference book with no chance of
the pages being ripped.</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>From the title, I expected stories about
towns with ghosts, but instead there was listed towns that were abandoned,
except for a small story on the Jersey Devil.</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Everyone in New Jersey knows about The
Jersey Devil, but few know the story of the strange creature that haunts the
southern half of the state. In 1735, a mother had already given birth to 12
children, and when told she was having another child, said she wasn’t having
any of it so she said let the devil have it. She gave birth to a healthy baby
boy that shortly transformed into a cloven-hoofed beast with the head of a
collie, the snout of a horse and tail of a dragon. After that were
different stories: the beast left through the chimney, or the beast ate
everyone in the room before leaving through a hole in the roof. It’s also
called the Leeds Devil and has been menacing the citizens of Burlington, Salem,
Camden, and Cape May counties, appearing to over 2000 people over the years.
It's attacked chickens, dogs, and cats. The Devil made an appearance in <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">X Files</i> when the two stars traced the
beast with a state ranger through the Pine Barrens. Continued efforts to
capture, corral or photograph the Devil has been unsuccessful, although
footprints have been discovered and shrieks have been heard.</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>I have been interested in the history of
New Jersey for close to 65 years and I thought I knew everything about this
state’s history, but I was mistaken. I only knew 5 of the 18 towns that were
covered in the book. It is obvious the author did much investigation of the
sites, since many of towns are not very well known. If you like history and
want to know about the lesser known New Jersey towns of long ago, then you’ll
want to read this book. The colorful vignettes of the towns are most endearing,
and each town is treated with a very brief history of its beginning and the
events that led to its being abandoned. Sometimes there are old pictures with
current pictures for comparison.</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Good reasons for the location of a town
would depend on the industry needed for the people in the area, i.e. iron
works, sawmills, forges, ice cutting, or transportation. Other towns were
created as a crossroads for delivering valuable raw materials during the
Revolutionary and Civil War.</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Towns that didn’t succeed may have been
destroyed by natural causes like fires or destroyed by the British during the
Revolution or during the Civil War. Some populations elected to move from the
town because the industry or craft was no longer needed due to the development
of new technologies. For example, instead of relying on iron bogs to get iron,
industries found iron ore in Pennsylvania, which required a different process
and transportation method. Other towns were in the way of land improvements and
had to be removed. When a dam was built in response to constant flooding in the
Delaware Gap area, many homes were bulldozed and people were relocated, but
unfortunately the dam was never built. </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Although some towns were deserted
because of new technologies, others benefited. The Morris Canal began in 1831
to bring goods and coal from Pennsylvania to Newark and the path of the canal
went right through Waterloo, which gave an obscure town like Waterloo Village a
resurgence and it continued to be popular until the canal peaked during the
Civil War when the railroads started to take over.</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>It has been a nice trip through New Jersey’s
lost history of ghost towns. It’s amazing how history, economy, industry, wars,
and even recreational towns play a part a town’s ability to survive. I plan to
go to some of the locations in the book and will now see these towns in a
different way. I am so glad the author has made it easy for me to find these
places when he included the visitor information and GPS coordinates
conveniently at the end of each chapter.</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Sometimes, when a town is abandoned,
there are sure to be a few ghosts hanging around. If you visit and find any,
please tell <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Psychic-Magic</i> about it.</span></span></div>

“The Essence of Today’s New Age Music”.</span></span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>I thought I’d do what I’ve previously done
when asked to review a CD: Host a “Review Party” where several friends sit and
listen to the CD and then offer comments.</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Here are a few quotes from Review Party
guests:</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>“<i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Flow</i>—the
entire CD—had a contemporary feel, not something I’d call ‘New Agey’. Less than
elevator music, though. It was pleasant and many selections—most notably <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Free Ascent</i>—had a haunting quality that
drew me in.”</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>“<i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Whisper
Me This</i> featured some lovely nature sounds, which enhanced the tranquil
feel of the music. I can see myself listening to it while driving through
traffic. It would help me stay calm even in a traffic jam. Very nice.”</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>“I was looking for something to listen
to while meditating, but I didn’t find it here. Although <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Flow </i>is relaxing, it’s not suited for meditation because it’s too
up-beat in many places. Maybe if you’re doing moving meditation.”</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>“I was hoping for something to do my Tai
Chi to, but none of the selections were appropriate for that. To me, it sounded
like one long track rather than eleven separate ones, and the tempo changed in
a way that I wouldn’t use it for my Tai Chi. I did enjoy it because the
combination of the instruments created a synthesis of calmness with enough of
an up-beat feel to lift the spirit.”</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>“The third track, <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Flow</i>, had a Latin feel that I really enjoyed. Of all the tracks, I
like this one the best. I wanted to get up and move.”</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>“<i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Waters
Gather </i>is an appropriate title because I closed my eyes as I listened and
the word that came to me was ‘rill’, which is a free-flowing brook or stream. <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Waters Gather </i>was a musical description
of a rill. I loved the violin on this track.”</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>“There’s what we call night driving
music. It’s what you listen to when yours is the only car on the road at night
and you’re enjoying the solitude and peace. <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Free
Ascent</i> is a very good example of night driving music. It’s haunting, yet
comforting. I’ll have to listen to it on the drive home tonight.”</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>“I wondered about the title <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">And the Sky Was</i>. The sky was what? It’s
probably one of those sentences you’re meant to complete yourself. For me, the
sentence would be ‘And the sky was beautiful on a hot, lazy, tropical day.’ Not
a get-up-and-dance Gato Barbieri day, but a
sit-and-watch-the-waves-shush-on-the-sand tropical day.”</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>“<i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">And
the Sky Was</i> reminded me of a 1940s film noir soundtrack. Probably because
of the muted trumpet. It was languid and soulful. I felt there was something
underneath the music—a story that I wanted to know the end of. Like I said, a
film noir. It drew me in more than any other track on the CD.”</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>The consensus was that <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Flow</i> lives up to its promise. Each
artist contributed to a whole that exceeded the sum of its parts. You can go to
Amazon.com and sample any of the tracks. We encourage you to try them all.</span></span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;">Ms.
Roy and her husband Simhananda have written a marvelous book. It became a
daunting task to write this review, as there’s so much information and I wanted
to share it all.</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>For many people, crystals are lovely
decorations. Some people use them in jewelry to balance body, mind, and spirit.
But there’s so much more to crystals and precious/semi-precious stones. Each of
us has an aura—an energy field surrounding our bodies—and energy centers called
chakras. Practitioners of “alternative” medicine stimulate the aura and those
energy fields to bring us into balance. For example, acupuncture needles
physically stimulate the aura and energy centers. Quartz can do the same,
though not by penetrating the body but by manipulating the energy centers
through vibration to bring the body into harmony. Basically, quartztherapy
works from the inside out, balancing the aura and energy centers to promote
health and well-being on all levels. </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>There is a wonderful section on colors
and how certain stones affect us. Recently, I was challenged with anxiety and
depression. I was having digestive issues and felt tired and sad all the time.
When I was drawn to wearing a piece of jewelry with malachite (green) and tiger
eye (brown and yellow), I checked Ms. Roy’s book and discovered that those
stones are associated with the Third (Solar Plexus) Chakra that deals with
anxiety, depression, digestive disorders—everything I’d been experiencing. I
had subconsciously been drawn to the stones that could help.</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>There’s more to quartztherapy than
simply picking up a stone and placing it on your body. Ms. Roy explains the
uses of various crystals, including cautions. Not every crystal is the same,
and not all are used in the same way. If you have a collection—or even just a
few—look at the differences. Each has a specific purpose, and misuse can cause
more imbalance.</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>The color photographs—of both the
crystals themselves and the way they’re used—are incredibly helpful. I was able
to quickly determine what my crystals are named and their uses. </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Ms. Roy uses her crystals to heal, and
in <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Quartztherapy: The Medicine of the
Future,</i> she teaches how it’s done. The photos are invaluable, and the
explanations are clear and concise. She covers the shapes of crystals, their
colors, and their uses. Did you know, for example, that you can use crystal
balls for healing? In addition to the crystals, Ms. Roy explains “helper”
stones that work with the crystals to achieve a desired healing. The types of
Quartztherapy healing include etheric surgery, though Ms. Roy cautions, “This
technique should never replace physical surgery when it is necessary.” Please
heed her advice: “The information in this book is not intended in any way as a
substitute for professional medical advice. Always seek the advice of a
physician for any questions concerning a medical condition or possible
treatment.” </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>If you want to begin using
Quartztherapy, Ms. Roy lists tools for a Starter Kit, accompanied with photos.</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>For quick reference, there is are tables
at the back of the book. One lists different types of quartz used in
quartztherapy and includes the name, use and properties. Other tables list
alarm points on the body, the type of imbalance that may be found there, and
affirmations that can help promote healing. </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>For those interested, Ms. Roy and Simhananda
offer crystal power elixirs. For more information, visit their website: </span><a href="http://www.imbm.ca/"><span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="color: blue;">www.imbm.ca</span></span></a><span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;">. </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>I’m sure my review doesn’t do credit to
this outstanding book. I highly recommend it for anyone interested in learning
Quartztherapy, or even remotely interested in how crystals can be used for
healing. To say, “it can change your life” sounds cliché, but I truly believe
that <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Quartztherapy: The Medicine of the

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;">An
important message from <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">The Tablets of
Light</i> is that “[w]ithin each of us resides a diamond light seed of Divine
consciousness, waiting to be activated.” </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>For those unfamiliar with terms used in
this book: Thoth is the Egyptian god of infinite knowledge, keeper of the
Akashic Records, and member of the Council of Light. The Akashic Records are a
compilation of all human events, words, thoughts, emotions and intents that
have ever occurred. They are stored in the etheric plane, which is a
non-physical realm. The Council of Light includes the Egyptian gods/goddesses
Thoth, Sekhmet, Ptah and Anubis. The Tablets of Light are stored in the Emerald
Tablets section of the Akashic records. </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Thoth has transmitted the information to
Danielle Rama in order to teach mankind how to reactivate the Divine
consciousness and transition from separation consciousness into unity
consciousness. </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>To access the information in the Tablets
of Light, “You can think of each tablet like a room in a temple, with
hieroglyphs and light language on the walls.” By using the exercises and
techniques contained in Ms. Hoffman’s book, you can learn to “absorb the high
vibrational energies that are in the chamber.” Because Thoth is said to be the
creator of the Tarot deck, you can see each segment of the tablets as a Tarot
card, “and you are in the card.” You can also enter the material as if in a
ceremony “[w]ith all of your sensations, your body, mind, emotions are present,
and also your intuition, your soul, your heart, your Divine self, your
totality....” </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>One description in explaining that we
are each a key of evolution: “Just as a key has individual grooves, a certain
shape, pattern, texture, and color, so do you. The lock—that you as a key of
evolution open—has taken on the form of your life at this time.” What a
wonderful metaphor.</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>The exercises are easy to do, and give
incredible insight. </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>I found the written exercise “Evolve
Repetitive Patterns” very helpful. It involves writing a goal or dream on a
piece of paper and then writing down the ways you hold yourself back from
realizing it. Write the repetitive patterns and identify them. Then, before
going to bed, set the intention that the repetitive patterns will evolve and
transmute while you sleep. In the morning, you may see the patterns in a new
light and may discover what they’re unlocking, what they’re telling you, and
what message they’re sharing with you. </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Like many channeled books, the language
in <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">The Tablets of Light – The Teachings
of Thoth on Unity Consciousness</i> can, at times, feel stilted and awkward.
There are repetitions. But it is an incredibly helpful book. As it explains:
“…you are in your own universe.<span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>You have
your own unique experience.” What will you do with your life? What will you
experience in your universe?</span></span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;">As
I began reading <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Shamanic Healing,</i> I was
stunned by the statistics. “the third leading cause of death in America is
hospitals … mistakes and infections in hospital care [contribute] to the deaths
of…between 210,000 and 440,000 patients each year … if you live to be
eighty-five years old you will have a 50 percent chance of having diagnosable
Alzheimer’s … one in forty children is diagnosed with autism … Fifty-nine
percent of all Americans…are taking prescription drugs daily…15 percent of all
Americans take five drugs or more each day … 10 percent of Americans are
depressed and 18 percent suffer from anxiety.”</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>To the contrary, when Dr. Alberto
Villoldo, a medical anthropologist, searched the rain forest of central Peru to
find “the next big cure for cancer or dementia” for a Swiss pharmaceutical
giant, he found no incidence of cancer, heart disease, or dementia. </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Western medicine is a “sick-based model,
profit-minded assembly line, speed-dating-like, impersonal” system that uses
medicine “by trial-and-error methods.” Some treatments simply mask symptoms,
and some medications cause toxic side effects that require more medication. As
one doctor said, Western medicine “is treating the smoke, and not the fire.”</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Western doctors won’t ask “Where you are
from, your emotional state, your lifestyle, your social and cultural beliefs,
or what you eat…” They weren’t taught that the body is more than one symptom. </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Shamanic medicine “sees the sick person
as a whole complex environment and makes an effort to reinstate the person’s
overall health.”</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>We need to balance Western medicine with
Shamanic methods. As Brazilian shaman Ipupiara explained: “Calming and
balancing the physical and emotional bodies creates less opposition for the
medicine, which allows it to work better.” This is called integrative medicine.</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>One thing Shamans do is tell stories,
and Beery tells his story very well. I was so engrossed that I didn’t realize
how much time had passed as I read. </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span><i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Shamanic Healing</i> is broken into four
sections: 1) Beery’s journey and those who guided him; 2) What Is Shamanic
Healing; 3) Healing Teachings, Ceremonies, and Techniques; 4) Healing Stories. </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Beery’s journey is interesting, and
meeting his teachers seemed somehow preordained. </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>An Ecuadorian shaman told Beery that
“…the three most important principles of shamanic healing [are]: (1) be in
balance with yourself, (2) be in balance with your family and community, (3) be
in balance with Mother Earth … It is all about being in balance.”<span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Simple, yet complex. I encourage you to pay
close attention to this section of the book, as it explains where blocks to
balance may come from and diagnosing and removing them so your energy once again
flows freely. </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>In Part 3, Beery explains what a healing
might entail, though each one is individual and geared to the client. He then
goes over tips for self-healing. </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Part 4 contains healing stories that are
riveting. Although shamanic healing does not assign labels, the stories are
organized in Western categories. It’s interesting how clients become their
disease, as in “I am schizophrenic” rather than, “I am in an imbalanced state
and want to change.”</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span><i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Shamanic
Healing – Traditional Medicine for the Modern World</i> is an easy to read,
easy to understand book. I have recommended it to a few people who have
imbalance in their lives and are finding no solutions in Western medicine. I
have also begun using some of the self-healing techniques.</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;">I
used to drive through the Poconos fairly regularly, and if I’d known about
these haunted sites, I certainly would have investigated. </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Pennsylvania is a big state of over
46,000 square miles, and although the Poconos take up only about five percent
of that, they have plenty of ghost stories. </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>The Poconos are located just over
Pennsylvania’s border with New Jersey, and there are a lot of resorts,
restaurants, and casinos for those inclined to partake. There are also
beautiful woodlands and stunning waterfalls that beckon photographers all
seasons of the year. And now, armed with L’Aura Hladik Hoffman’s book, ghost
hunters will be visiting, as well, I’m sure.</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>L’Aura personally visited the sites and
shared photos of each. I enjoyed her personable style of relating her
adventures. In addition to the hauntings, she offers tips on places to stay and
eat (even menu items), and points out private property where ghost hunters are
prohibited.<span style="margin: 0px;"> </span></span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>L’Aura describes each locale and gives
background on other people’s reported experiences. She also shares her own
experiences, some of which are disappointing. That’s how it is when you go
ghost hunting—sometimes the ghosts decide not to cooperate.</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>A few of L’Aura’s experiences include
fresh camera battery dying, photographing orbs (lovely, moody photo of orbs on page
21), an “overwhelming and disturbing feeling” at the Old Jail Museum in Jim
Thorpe (formerly Mauch Chunk), and her husband Kent’s captured EVP of “I’m
here” and knocks in response to questions in the ladies’ room at the Tom X Pub
in East Stroudsburg. </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>In addition to ghostly tales and spooky
experiences, L’Aura provides information for beginner ghost hunters. </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Chapter 24 lists best practices for
safety in investigating and documenting the paranormal. Most are common sense
(get permission, scope the area ahead of time, carry your cell phone at all
times, be professional, etc.) but it’s good to review the list before planning
your trip.</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Chapter 25 explains (with photos) how
ghosts can appear in pictures. Yes, a full-body apparition would be nice, but
that orb in your photo might not be dust or pollen. A vortex, or white
tornado-like image, may be “a cluster of orbs or spirits getting ready to
separate.” The cloud in your photo may be ectoplasmic mist or vapor. Take a
second look before you decide to delete photos you think are no good.</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Chapter 26 explains how to classify
EVPs. </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Chapter 27 is an indispensable directory
of paranormal organizations, researchers and tours in the Poconos. Always
research before you head out on a ghost hunt. You want to be sure you know if
the site is open to the public, what the hours are, and the person or people
you should connect with if you want to learn more about their ghosts.</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span><i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Ghosts
of the Poconos</i> is an entertaining and informative look at ghost hunting.
Although not all the sites L’Aura visited resulted in an experience, her
narration shows how much fun a ghost hunting excursion can be. You may not
always find a ghost, but you’ll meet interesting people who have some pretty
spooky experiences to share.</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>I never knew Australia had so many ghosts! But
since it began as a dumping ground for British prisoners, it isn’t surprising. <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Haunted Australia </i>is a thoroughly
enjoyable hard-cover book that includes many moody and spooky color
photographs, a few “bloody” splotches, and stories of ghosts and hauntings. </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>When I began reading <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Haunted Australia</i>, I felt that there
were too many quick stories of hauntings without much detail. I then realized
that there were so many ghosts that there’s no need for a lot of the extraneous
detail other authors use to “fluff” up a book when the “bare bones” (excuse the
pun) would suffice. In order to fit in all the haunted spots, Montgomery kept
to the facts.</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>That’s not to say there is no detail at
all. Montgomery includes quite a bit of history of Australia and each of the
allegedly haunted sites to give us a better idea of <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">why </i>a site might be haunted. </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>For example, the Fremantle Arts Centre
was formerly a prison, “lunatic asylum”, homeless women’s shelter, midwifery
school and HQ for American armed forces in WWII. That could explain experiences
such as “cold spots, voices, banging noises, movement of objects, footsteps,
smells, physical contact, black shadows, and, terrifyingly, part or full
apparitions.” Lots of possible origins for the ghosts.</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>A self-described skeptic, Montgomery
explains “I simply presented the stories as I have heard or read them.”
Experiences come from various ghost tours, ghost hunting teams, TV teams
filming at a site, and individual accounts. Montgomery describes his own
experience at a site on Tasmania. Readers are free to visit the public sites to
experience the phenomena themselves. Please respect private locales. </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Montgomery brings up the interesting
topic of what a “ghost” actually is. He writes, “…while some have experiences
that can be explained, there are others that simply defy any rational
explanation.” </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>He also notes that ghosts occasionally
show up at different—and widely divergent—places, most of which are not the
site of the death. One example is the ghost of David Burnie, imprisoned for
“The Moorhouse Murders”. Burnie committed suicide at Casuarina Prison in 2005,
and his ghost has been seen there as well as Old Fremantle Prison (or Fremantle
Gaol), where he was previously imprisoned. Another is Point Cook, which was the
Royal Australian Air Force base until 1925. It is considered the Air Force’s
most haunted base, and the ghosts that haunt the base grounds and hangars did
not die there.</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>In both cases, Montgomery wonders if the
spirits “find their way back to a place even though their earthly bodies may
have died elsewhere”. </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Montgomery also postulates whether “ghosts
are more than just the souls of the tormented dead” or if “they are something
much more substantial and even less understandable”. </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Alas, we’ll have to wait for answers to
these questions, as Montgomery—and undoubtedly others—are considering the same
questions.</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span><i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Haunted
Australia </i>is chock-full of stories of hauntings from “The Land Down Under”.
J.G. Montgomery covers over 150 locations, but there are obviously a lot more
to be explored. </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>If you like “spooky stories”, you can’t
do better than this chiller/thriller. You might want to read during daylight
hours, because some of the stories will keep you up at night.</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>

<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;">Eileen
channels what she calls “The Life Force”, or simply LIFE, offering poignant and
uplifting help for our troubled world. The message from the opening Invitation
to Communication is, “Know that I AM your formless Self, communicating with you
through these words because you desire the <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">conscious
</i>reconnection of form and formlessness. The time has come for you to awaken
and transcend your imagined limitations so that you can express ever more of
your formless Self in the realm of form.” Unlike other books channeled from
discarnate entities or enlightened beings, <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Raindrops
of Love </i>comes from within ourselves. <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">We
</i>are the Life Source full of wisdom, and we need to simply recognize it.</span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span><i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Raindrops
of Love </i>contains four parts, each broken into short, easy to read sections.
The sections are uplifting and easily fit into a busy life—I read sections over
breakfast, more as I rode mass transit to work, a few more over lunch, and
others before bed. </span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;">The

<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;">Part IV – Life
Love – </span></b><i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;">The Freedom of Self-Mastery</span></i></span></div>
<br />
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>There are many self-help,
self-actualization books on the market, each purporting to help us “live the
life we were meant to live.” What sets <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Raindrops
of Love </i>apart is the warmth and deep love that imbue the messages. So many
books are simply “how to” without uplifting words of comfort. Someone compared <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Raindrops of Love</i> to the instruction
book that comes with your car. It will be of infinite help, but only if you
pick it up and read it.</span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>It’s difficult to condense all my
feelings about <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Raindrops of Love</i> into
a short review. Let me offer some insight from Part III, the section called <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Listening to the Ego.</i> So many authors
tell us that Ego must be suppressed, Ego is the source of all our problems,
etc. So, we wrestle with that and usually end up even more conflicted. </span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>The lesson in <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Raindrops of Love</i> is to listen to our ego. “…ego is not a problem
child you must kill so that you can become an adult … defining your ego as ‘the
enemy other’ only triggers internal resistance…your terrified ego will seek to
stave off any violent assaults on its presumed sovereignty.” What an
interesting perspective. We’re told to “Listen to [ego’s] stories, its woes,
and its fears without further judgment.” We can then embrace those stories with
“compassion for the limited understanding that your child-self possessed while
it danced boldly along the edge of the unknown.” </span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>This was so helpful for me as I dealt
with situations in my life where my ego felt as if I were “angrily slitting
[its] throat and then leaving it to bleed out…” I learned how to “convert…ego’s
fear of punishment into peace…” </span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span><i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Raindrops
of Love </i>is a wonderful, uplifting, helpful collection of devotionals that
can help us be more aligned with life’s rhythms. We are, as the title says, a
thirsty world. <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Raindrops of Love </i>can
slake that thirst.</span></span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;">Skeleton
Keys</span></i><span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"> is a
collection of ten true accounts reported by people who have experienced some
type of paranormal activity in the course of doing their everyday jobs.</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>With so many television series on
hauntings and ghost hunting to choose from, it’s easy to forget just how much
scarier it can be to read about them. Most of us have read our share of ghost
stories and felt deliciously creeped out by them, but knowing the stories are
based on true events can really raise one’s hackles. John Klann has collected
an interesting group of first-hand accounts that will pique the interest of
most ghost lovers.</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Hauntings in restaurants, bars and
hotels are fairly commonplace, so it’s no surprise to find stories of this type
recounted in the collection. Also included, however, are stories coming from
security guards, docents and realtors. For some reason, the thought never
occurred to me that an open house might also be a haunted one. How often do
realtors experience odd happenings when showing someone through a house? It
appears that one story was a catalyst for the author to compile this collection
as it involved his family’s search for a new home that included a visit to a
seemingly haunted house.</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Each entry is done in a very low key,
non-sensational fashion, which helps add credibility to the story being told.
What also helps is that the first-hand accounts are coming from pretty
respectable sources: a trained security guard who shares his experiences with
doors that lock and unlock themselves, realtors who hear phantom footsteps and
voices in completely empty houses, hotel employees who have to remake beds made
only minutes earlier. The cross section of people, places and events is
diverse, and Klann adds his own observations on each event. To round things
out, he puts himself directly into the position of the people whose stories he
has collected, not just by sharing his house-hunting experience, but by
voluntarily spending a night in one of the haunted locations visited earlier in
the book and sharing that with the reader as well.</span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>I found <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Skeleton Keys</i> to be a very interesting read, mainly due to its
focus on workplace hauntings. For the past 20 years, I’ve worked in a building
where more than one person – myself included – has experienced some odd
activities. Doors slam shut when no one else is in the building, lights that
can be accessed only from one location turn on and off, unplugged radios play
music, and glimpses of movement can be seen in empty hallways. Most of the
time, things don’t feel too scary, but there are times when you’re working away
on something and you suddenly get the feeling that you have to leave – now. You
don’t finish what you’re doing; you simply pack up and go because the
atmosphere says ‘we’ve let you stay long enough, it’s our turn’. A book like <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Skeleton Keys</i> lets me know that others
have been through the same things and helps to validate what I’ve experienced,
but it’s also an entertaining read for anyone who simply loves a good ghost
story.</span></span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="color: blue; font-size: large;">What I expect from books by Susan Shumsky is clear, concise,
easily understood information, and <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Awaken
Your Divine Intuition </i>is no exception. </span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>The techniques in the
book have been tested by Dr. Shumsky’s students, and she shares some of their
experiences. If you think it’s time to wake up that “still, small voice within”,
this might be time to pick up <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Awaken Your
Divine Intuition</i>. Dr. Shumsky also offers a 70-minute guided meditation
that you can download from her website. Very helpful in discerning the Voice of
God from lower spirit voices. There are also prayers of protection and healing
prayers and affirmations for different needs.</span></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: black; font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>I shared the book
with four friends. One said that the book and meditation were “extremely
helpful as I learned to discern the Voice of God from voices in lower realms
that may not want what’s best for me.” Another said, “I loved the book, as I’ve
loved all of her other books. In this one, I liked the affirmations/prayers
that apply to different needs. </span></span><span style="color: blue;"><span style="font-size: large;">The exercises</span><span style="font-size: large;"> were explained very well, and were
easy to follow. They were extremely helpful.” A third said, “I thought Dr.
Shumsky was a bit condescending when talking about others she feels aren’t
truly speaking to spirit. She seems to imply that her way is the only way, and
I can’t communicate with spirit in any way but hers.” The fourth said, “Dr.
Shumsky tries to explain her definition of God in a way that will make
non-believers, or those who had negative experiences with religion, feel more
comfortable. To say that Spirit, God, intuition, inner guidance and all mean
the same thing is fine, but it doesn’t erase the bad taste organized religion
left in my mouth.”</span></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>So, there you have
four views that may encourage you to run out and buy <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Awaken Your Divine Intuition</i> or look at it more closely to see if
it matches your beliefs. </span></span></span></div>

<br />
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="color: blue; font-size: large;">The Statue of Liberty is more than a green lady in a sexless,
shapeless robe, standing in New York Harbor with a book cradled in one arm and
a torch held aloft in the other hand. </span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>When I first received
<i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">The Secret Life of Lady Liberty</i> for
review, I thought, “How much history could there be? Auguste Bertholdi used his
mom as a model and built a statue that he gifted to America.” I was so wrong!
This is<i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"> </i>an amazing book that offers a
deep and insightful scrutiny of the symbolism of the Statue of Liberty “from the
Neolithic Earth Mother, to Mary Magdalene, Columbia, and Joan of Arc.” </span></span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span><i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">The Secret Life of Lady Liberty </i>contains information about the
Statue of Liberty, as well as the history of women in America, and even
America’s beginnings that our history books missed, glossed over, or
intentionally omitted. Lady Liberty is about balance and equality, yet there is
a major disconnect between the depiction of “Liberty” as female while women
have been suppressed throughout the history of the United States. </span></span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Our Founding Fathers
adopted many Native American principals in writing our Constitution, and the
first depictions of “Liberty” in North America were Native American. The
dichotomy was in the treatment of women. The Indigenous people respected women
and honored their wisdom; however, the tradition of European colonists was that
woman was created to serve man. This has skewed the view of Lady Liberty, who
was conceived of and created by feminists. </span><span style="margin: 0px;"><span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;">Édouard </span></span><span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;">de
Laboulaye, the mastermind behind the statue, was founder of the French
Anti-Slavery Society in 1865 and an abolitionist who felt strongly that slavery
would make the republican form of government unsustainable.<span style="margin: 0px;"> </span></span></span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>To quote the authors on their reasons for writing <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">The Secret Life of Lady Liberty</i>:
“Considering the Statue of Liberty is used around the world as a symbol to
represent the United States of America, we wondered how we might use these
insights about the female divine to shift the American paradigm … seeing the
Statue of Liberty as America’s goddess could facilitate the transition to the
partnership lessons of the goddess and away from the domination patterns of the
current patriarchy.” </span></span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Historic and original
artwork depict the changes in Liberty from the early days of America to the
present. We see illustrations of goddesses from various cultures. Is Liberty based
on pagan iconography? Why, when and how did the female symbol of America change
from Native American to Greco-Roman iconography? When was she no longer seen as
“divine princess” but “demon whore”? </span></span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>What do the symbols
of Lady Liberty represent? In America’s early days, “Liberty” and “Freedom”
were depicted as a bare-breasted Native American woman. That changed
dramatically. She no longer wears feathers. She is fully clothed. She does not
wear the pileus, the cap linked to freedom of slaves, and as the authors point
out, “…hair and head coverings were causes for much debate and consternation,
with bareheadedness implying a virginal and thus virtuous state, but unbound
and flowing hair indicating unbound freedom, and suggesting looseness of
character. Hair carefully coiffed … indicated a liberty controlled by
law.”<span style="margin: 0px;"> </span></span></span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>The depiction of
Uncle Sam and the Statue of Liberty around the world is interesting. Uncle Sam
is often seen as representing the militant and greedy impulses of America,
while Liberty is portrayed as the soul or conscience who advises discretion.</span></span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>There is so much
fascinating information, and I’d love to incorporate it all in this review, but
<i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">The Secret Life of Lady Liberty</i> is a
book you must read for yourself. You’ll be surprised at how much we <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">don’t </i>know about her, and how much we <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">don’t </i>know about our own history.</span></span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: blue;"><i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>The Secret Life of Lady Liberty</span></i><span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"> is
not written for history majors. She’s written for anyone interested in the
symbolism of “Liberty” and its evolution in America. </span><span style="margin: 0px;"><span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;">Does
“the Lady in the Harbor” have the same meaning today that she did when Auguste
Bertholdi and Édouard de Laboulaye conceived of the project?</span></span></span></span><span style="font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"><span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>As
one online reviewer pointed out, “</span></span><span style="margin: 0px;"><span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;">That the </span></span><span style="margin: 0px;"><span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;">‘</span></span><span style="margin: 0px;"><span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;">Lady</span></span><span style="margin: 0px;"><span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;">’</span></span><span style="margin: 0px;"><span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;">

material dictated to her by Djwhal Khul (a pseudonym for his own safety), a
Tibetan Master. </span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span><i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">The
Circle of Initiates</i> explains the hidden personality traits and influences
the Seven Rays have on humans, and gives detailed explanations of the concept
by listing the Ray and sub-ray influences on 109 famous (or infamous) people. </span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Rather than begin at the beginning, the
reader is encouraged to start with the appendix, where Ms. Roy explains the
Seven Rays. You will then better understand the entries for each of the 109.
It’s a fairly easy read and well explained.</span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Djwhal Khul asserts that the source of
the Rays is located within the seven major stars of the Big Dipper. A ray is
energy that influences the bodies that make up a human being. By studying the
Rays and how they influence us from incarnation to incarnation, we can better
understand who we are as well as the people with whom we interact.</span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>We each have six bodies: the Monad
(sometimes called “spirit”), the Soul, the Personality (our daily behavior and
how we express ourselves), the Mental (how we think and problem-solve), the
Astral (our emotional expression), and the Physical (our physical appearance
and vitality). The Monad is the most evolved part of our make-up and it’s where
the Soul returns when its destiny is complete.</span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Each Ray is supported by four sub-rays,
and the interplay of Rays and sub-rays in our various bodies and incarnations
characterize who we are and determine our life’s path. </span></span></div>

</span></span></span><span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;">Ceremonial
order and magic</span></span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>It sounds more complicated than it is.
After reading the appendix, read the entries for people familiar to you and
you’re likely (like me) to have an “aha moment”, wherein you see the interplay
in action and truly understand the Rays’ influence in your own life.</span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>The 109 initiates in Volume 1 include
Beethoven, George W. Bush, Fidel Castro, Winston Churchill, Leonardo DiVinci,
Walt Disney, Bill Gates, Michael Jackson, George Lucas, Barack Obama, Elvis
Presley, Frank Sinatra, Donald Trump, Jules Verne, and Oprah Winfrey. Volume 2
will include even more. </span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Learning about the Seven Rays allows us
to gain better mastery of our “self”. A Ray is neither negative nor positive.
Like yin and yang, we seek balance, yet at times we swing toward one polarity
of the other. For example, people influenced by Ray 2 on the Soul plane use
love and empathy to help others. They put others before their own needs.
They’re patient, forgiving and social. However, if they are negatively
influenced, their traits may be an inferiority complex, self-pity, and indifference
or contempt for others. </span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>The book’s size (592 pages) looks
daunting, and the subject matter seems difficult to understand, but begin by
reading the appendix, and then look at some of the 109 examples for a thorough
understand of the topic. <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">The Circle of
initiates, Past and Present (Volume 1) </i>is informative, entertaining and captivating.

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="color: blue;"><span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;">There are different classes of angels including archangels,

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Angels are always around us. They come
from God, and their high vibrational frequency assists those humans with whom
they interact rise heavenward in spiritual evolution. We can occasionally see
them, but only when God allows them “to appear in physical human form to
perform a specific task,” as Ms. Brocas explains. Angels are not to be
worshipped, but thought of as God’s messengers—the word “angel” comes from the
Greek word for “messenger”. </span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Fallen angels, too, are always around
us, but they have turned away from God and thrive on destructive energies such
as fear and hate. Which angels do you want to invite into your life?</span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Guardian angels receive instruction and
guidance from Archangels and help us keep in spiritual balance by delivering
divine guidance. Ms. Broca teaches that aligning with our guardian angel gives
us direct contact with God. </span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Connecting with our guardian angel is

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>In writing about the Archangels, Ms.

describing who they are, how they offer physical, psychological and spiritual
healing, and the personal blessings each bestows. </span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial Narrow",sans-serif; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="margin: 0px;"> </span>Chapter 2, Our Divine Design, explains
that we are more than just our physical body; we have spiritual as well as
human DNA. Ms. Broca explains the etheric energy body, the seven energy

and our higher-self, going into detail and teaching which Archangel can be

Chapter 3 outlines angel medicine exercises and energetic techniques to deal
with stress and help heal the most common health complaints, such as tension
headaches, sore or tired eyes, hay fever, gas and bloating, back pain, fatigue,
sore throat, hives, and the common cold.</span></span></div>

works, as well as how we can learn to pray and what kinds of prayers to use in
dealing with our false beliefs. These can be the false belief that we are
unable to heal or that we are being punished by God. There is a list of
